Youth Education & Programs
Now more than ever, people of all ages and walks of life are interested in sustainable practices and “green” initiatives. In many cases, young people are leading the way, tapping into the positive attributes of youth like idealism, energy, and enthusiasm to accomplish great things. |
 |
Conservation and education programs that engage young people in hands-on learning provide opportunities for youth to learn even more valuable lessons like the value of teamwork, the importance of personal responsibility, and the reward of service to community. Through education and conservation programs, young people develop a sense of stewardship of the natural environment and are much more likely to employ “green” practices and embrace a sustainable lifestyle that will serve them and their community far into the future. |
The Diamond Conservation Fund supports youth education in conservation in a variety of forms. Education can be achieved through more traditional means such as in a class or presentation setting, or by hands-on experience such as involving youth in community conservation projects.
